I like the color mixing quite a bit, but the logo has a strong, masculine feel like a certain worker/ labor party logo/ symbol. And since it looks like the hand squeezing something like a ball, the logo has somewhat closed and even a bit violence suggestions.
What I have in mind is some symbol/ abstract that suggests an open, hopeful, egalitarian message. I am no designer but I hope we can dig in a bit and come up with something phenomenon for new.
