The easiest way to detect if something is real money or fake money is to check whether it can perform the primary function of money, which is to act as a means by which parties exchange goods and services in the market. Real money is capable of performing this function, while fake money is not.
I am not sure which country you are from, but lets say the function of money depends upon which fiat currency you are holding, if you own dollar and if you are travelling to another continent you need to convert the currency in order to use it and that is the case with bitcoin as you have the freedom to sell in any local exchange and then convert to your local currency. So if you think that the primary function of money is to perform the basic function of trade bitcoin is more than capable of doing that
