do you feel that ethereum is very slow now? only sending ethereum with gwei 11 and gas limit 21000, in the calculator at ether gastation takes 40 seconds. However, until now (2 hours) it has not been pending, and even my previous shipment has experienced the same thing (five days still pending)
do you think it's only for a moment or did I make a mistake?
Have you tried to make bank transfers not within your own country, but at least to a neighboring state? I tried. Transaction takes several days and at the same time the commission can reach 5% of the amount. After that, the transactions in the Ethereum network do not seem to me long and expensive. Everything is relative.
Banks are catching up, depending if they are located in the EU or in the US.
Within the EU, most banks are already connected to a faster bank transfer system (processing SEPA bank transfers will normally take 1 processing day).
The US are a bit lagging behind (
https://www.wsj.com/articles/fed-to-create-payments-system-to-speed-money-transfers-11565026200),
but nowadays i suspect most of the major US exchanges have banking partners with access to a faster payment system.
Then you also have countries where their major banks are all connected to an instant payment system, which have a 5 seconds processing time.
(
https://www.betaalvereniging.nl/en/focus/instant-payments/). This can extend from being used by one country locally, to having partnerships with
other European banks as well (because it is an European standard).
You can tell if an exchange has a banking partner with access to a faster payments system, by checking the time between your exchange having
processed your deposit/withdrawel and the time it actually arrives in your exchange account or in your bank account. If that time is longer then
1 day, then that exchange most likely has a banking partner without access to a faster payments system.
I suspect in the nearby future most banks (certainly most European banks) will be connected to an instant payment system that will work 24 hrs per
day, 7 days a week, even during holidays. It will simply be a part of our society that is switching to a digital society more and more. The Digital Era.
