I have been away for awhile and was wondering where the best place to sell some bitcoin would be?
There is no true value. It keeps fluctuating all the time and as far as we have bitcoin stretched to more than 11K recently. So you can wait until that point is reached. As you are selling small amount of money/btc then it would be worth waiting. In anyway btc is high currently. :-)
Was selling some on coinbase but now they want a copy of my ID and I don't feel comfortable with that.
Is CEX.IO a good place to sell?

There are always best option out there. And you can use tradebtc, hitbtc or local exchanger if you have in your region. I would suggest local one as it is more safe and gives nearby people to trade with. This can help in any unsuccessful trade if any. (Recovery etc.)
I do not recommend the Hitbtc trading platform, I had a lot of delays with the withdrawal in the past on this exchange.
