Have any tests been done (or are any planned) with NFC capable smart phones (and perhaps a modified Electrum client)? 
Well, the card is NFC compliant and it's recognized by any NCF reader.
So if you have a desktop NFC reader, it would work flawless. With a smartphone, it's another question because of the use of Electrum client.
Learn something new every day... was not aware that card readers were so widely used within the general populace anywhere to be honest!
