I've never seen the Desktop (Window, Linux, Mac) versions refer to "default_wallet" or attempt to create a wallet with that name.  Those versions always start with "wallet_1" as the default name for the first wallet created.  The only version of Electrum I've ever seen use the "default_wallet" nomenclature is the Android mobile app.
