I'm still using it because I'm trading on Decentralized Exchange, and there are sites that I visited that needs to communicate through metamask, I don't see anything wrong using it I have not seen or read any bugs on it right now.
If you think you can't trust metamask then use an empty wallet and just deposit the needed amount if you are going to trade in DEX.
