Altcoins aren't dead, just taking a break like they've done many times in the past. If you think they're dead, you're missing a buying opportunity IMO.
Altcoin is a broad term, we have seen many coins coming and going in the top twenty list many times and majority of the coins are dead and i never expect any movement in those. The top coins like ETH, Monero, Litecoin might have some movement in the future, other than that i do not expect any exceptional rise in price. A trader who doesn't have "resources to keep their own" bitcoin probably won't be using Bakkt at all.
You cannot be a bitcoin or any form of trader if you are not able to access internet or you are not having the hardware required to access those let alone Bakkt
