Bitcoin is Bitcoin. Bitcoin does not need any company, partnership or well known investor. BTC survived alone for years and it can go on survive alone.
Alt coin traders can not survive without BTC because alt coins can not survive without BTC. And last 3 months we saw how alt coins are deepened to BTC. BTC UP, alt coins down. BTC down, alt coins down. Physically they may survive but the values of the alt coins will  crush without any recovery.
