It is hard to say about reliability in cryptocurrency. Even the price of Bitcoin falls but Bitcoin is the most relible cryptocurrency with the biggest capitalization.
As for other cryptocurrencies, you can discuss reliability. But BTC is the most reliable coin, no doubt. Despite the price drop from time to time. The bitcoin network is so large and decentralized. So even such a heavy drop as in 2018 cannot change the reliability of the bitcoin blockchain.
