The price $1000 is very possible to happen at the end of 2020, even I personally believe will be able to exceed the price of $1000. After they released Ethereum 2.0 then I feel optimistic that ETH prices will go to the moon. So it's not wrong if you buy ETH now, then hold it for a long term investment.
It is a good decision for anyone to buy Ethereum at its current price, the best time would have actually been recently that bitcoin price was forced down which also forced majority of these coins to also go so low, but already recovering as bitcoin is recovering.
There is every possibility that the new Ethereum 2.0 is the one that will bring the ICO back to life again, and new investors that will get to know of Ethereum in 2020 will seriously put money into the market then, and I think that is why there are some people here that strongly believe that this year is not the year of altcoins, not because we are getting to the end of the year, but because of these projects that has lined up for the year 2020, so I also believe that 2020 is the main year for lots of bull run.
