The community consensus is that saying sir is unneeded and associated with spammers however we have to think about the different cultures that come to the forum and sir is a common way to address someone that you do not know the names of. If you have ever been overseas specifically the middle east you will be called sir very often. Its part of the way they speak and should not be labelled as spammers any more than a cultural difference. Members have to be more accepting on a international forum of how people speak in a language they are not native too.
