Hi, many people are still complaining how many ICOs ended up as a scam.
The cryptocurrency idea is to create a free worldwide decentralized ecosystem. Free for all, for honest but also for dishonest people. It is free market and you should protect yourself before losing your money. You don´t like it? Then you do not understand crypto.
We cannot really avoid such circumstances since ICOs are created with freedom in it. The best thing we can do about it is to be responsible on finding which ICO to trust. Make sure you read the whitepaper and view the history of those people running the ICO so that you can make sure that it is credible enough to trust.
These scam projects will really pop out of nowhere no matter what generation we're at, regardless if it's an ICO's, STO's, or IEO's. It's either they'll end up as an exit scam or a dead project not meeting any of their promises even though they had successful fundraising. We can't even trust a word of mouth from these famous people too,
John mcafee promoted a scam ICO last 2018 which is now awaiting court trials. That alone will tell you that you should still do your own research and not rely on news.
Sentiments and emotions drives a lot of what's happening in crypto and we have to play it smart minimize our losses as much as we can.
