Well, I mean if you're going into nicotine vs opiate withdrawal, I'll raise you benzodiazepine vs opiate withdrawal, for "Bigger Sack of Shit" Award. Not that I would know anything about opiate withdrawal. Just my limited exposure with benzo widthdrawal during treatment adjustment was enough to put the ever-loving fear of the Flying Spaghetti Monster's wrath into my noodley appendages.
Also, wishing a certain someone in this thread pleasant thoughts, through psychic-hell tribulations.
EDIT: I quit cigarette smoking cold-turkey through sheer force-of-will a couple decades back, myself. I was a (more than usual) cranky asshole for a month or so.
