I will want to draw attention of newbies towards this scam on social media, the wide popularity of bitcoin is an advantage for criminals.
I got a message from an anonymous person on whatsapp offering me an opportunity to invest in bitcoin and earn twice your investment in no time, this guys confuses you with fake chat of others claiming to have been paid from the investment, which I knew where altered and I did the rightful thing by blocking the person.
I would like to call on newbies not to fall victim on social media in the name of investing in bitcoin
If you willing to invest in bitcoin you can get bitcoin wallet and go to an exchange where you can buy bitcoin and keep in your wallet, very easy.
Planning to double your money in a day through bitcoin on social media is at your own risk there is hardly such type of investment being genuine

@Upgate I have normally seen this scam happening on Facebook and emails, but never heard people whatsapp to scam victims. Whenever you read words like double your money, or interest on your money you should immediately avoid it and I’m glad you didn’t fall for this scam.

If someone contacted you through WhatsApp that means you were careless with your mobile phone number, just as you are careless with your e-mail that is displayed publicly through your profile. One of the most important steps is not to make such information public, otherwise you give anyone a chance to contact you and try to deceive you in any way.

Bad people use all possible methods to find their potential victims, and social networks, e-mails, mobile phones are ideal platforms for modern scams. Do not share such data publicly, do not trust unknown people who contact you to make money and you will be safe.

As @Lucius has rightly pointed out you really need to get careful with your personal details, also try and find out how that scammer got your phone number.
