You did great job, your video is very informative. But as other said, it's too long. I know it's difficult to cover everything in 5 mins, but it's reality of current generation - many people now simply can't keep their attention on subject for long time, especially when they see some static views of forum without much action - it may look boring for them.
Especially if it's monetised I prefer a 10-15 minute video it's probably the size of the videos I watch.
Also, I'm disapointed smart tvs with rakotu (or whatever it's called) os don't have a speed up option in youtube (as a person who likes to watch things at 2x ir's really missed)...
I have an idea for another video that covers some posting pitfalls, unfortunately it's sort of opinion based. I think that would be a nice one to cover rules more in depth. My hope though is that people will still go to the threads and read through them.
If you get a basic idea of some points I'd be happy to see if I can add any more to them or discuss the ones you have if you want a second opinion (I normally use telegram to discuss things with people on here but I haven't configured a username)...
Great video! It really makes me feel that I haven't done enough to make the newbie experience welcoming enough...
The users were my issue as a newbie so maybe it is a good idea to offer some information to them and try to build the experience. Although most of us are "guests" here for a few months before we actually bother to join up. It was at my point of discovering linux so I was very much enthusiastic towards both, maybe other people miss that though if they're not here for the fundamentals.
The timestamp idea was a good one too @steamtyme I see a lot of epople doing that and it's pretty helpful if you could get especially the rules and welcome message linked.
