At this point the only way I can see it reach that price is by solving blockchain trilemma. Ethereum 2.0 phase zero will be launching on January 2020 but we don't know what to expect in the next couple of years. If the overall transition will be successful within 2 to 3 years reaching $2500 would be easy.
It depends how successful the revolution of 2.0 itself.
If it's failed to develop and it produce many bugs and something wrong about the transactions network, it will be a boomerang for ETH and people surely will leave it.
I think new technology adaption is not easy to implemented and even it's sucess to implement, i don't think the users will confy with the new one
I don't think that eth's revolution could help eth to explode again in price because I often hear about the events of different projects, people compete to accumulate but as a result, those projects do not increase as expected, this information is so overtly public, people only hold and wait for a high price, the need to sell very little, the lack of resources to pump prices. ETH is also in this situation, people expect and hold but unfortunately, the general thinking of everyone will reduce the chance that eth can fly.
