This is a problem with having a single moderator with extremist views as a moderator of a political sub. This situation is nearly guaranteed to result in moderation that very heavily one viewpoint. Rules will either be very one sided, or will go unenforced for one viewpoint when they are strictly enforced for another.
Many polls are run by one left leaning pollster and one right leaning pollster to prevent the result from being skewed to benefit one side.
The obvious solution is to either find a moderator with more moderate views, or to find a second moderator with right leaning viewpoints who can help shift the moderation towards the middle/balanced.
