Did they fix that atrociously slow wallet?
The wallet is very slow to download the blockchain and synch when you first open it, but in all other respects it operates fine. I believe the Namecoin wallet, from which Huntercoin was extended has the same issue. It is annoying, but manageable. I understand from the website that a lite version of the wallet is in development.
I was considering an investment, but reading the thread makes me pretty nervous. Sounds like a lot of issues with both the wallet and game recently.
It is a bit complicated to get started, but not more so than most other coins in my experience. The only thing out of the ordinary I had to do to get the Huntercoin client working was add a .conf file with additional nodes, which is detailed here:
http://huntercointalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=52. I have only spent a few hours playing around in in the game, but I haven't had any issues thus far and I'm not very savvy at these types of things. I suspect the problems are from a vocal minority. I suggest you try running the client and decide for yourself.
