The more new coins that are present in the crypto market, will certainly enliven the crypto world.
Rather than enliven the market, more coins will dilute it. I'm not even sure what the newest coins are, but I *am* sure that there hasn't been anything better than bitcoin, eth, or any of the top coins already on the market. There are too many coins out there and the market is saturated with them. It's no wonder why prices are in the crapper right now.
These new projects are just actually being guided by the old coins. This will in no way affect the prices of the old ones.
You're probably right that new ones won't affect the value of older coins. The good, established altcoins have strong communities and have actual value. All the new coins coming out now, as well as those garbage tokens, don't really add anything to what's already here. That's the reason why I don't get excited when I hear about new coins, especially stable coins. I'm quite happy with what I own right now.
