Maybe not to replace but to create a better masternode coin. The price of sins has already made so many people feel disappointed with it. So many developers are doing this thing just like when PIVX developer was creating an alternative coin and apply a new consensus to that project and that is called as veil project.
So many developers are doing this way to try their chance to create a coin that can get a lot of demand from the market. That means the dev will also get the money from there. 

Sins will still alive but that will not get regular update from the developer if the dev has already created a new coin. This will be an abandoned coin.
But that sucks to see so many people are getting scammed with this one.
