This bid is invalid as the minimum bid increments are 0.001BTCI figured that would have implied it is the 0.0087 bids which are invalid, as 0.0087 is NOT an increment of 0.001 in the first place.
As long as the bid is 0.001BTC above previous bid, it will be valid.
OP states "Minimum bid increments - 0.001BTC".... they do not state that each bid must be in increments of this minimum, thus people are free to bid any amount above and beyond the minimum.
