If using bitcoin-qt client, click on receive button, find the btc address requested on that list, right-click on it->Sign Message. Now copy and paste the message to sign. The rest should be straight-forward.

If you're using blockchain.info, click on "receive money" tab, look for the btc address requested, click on "action" on the right side and pick sign message.
