if talking about Ethereum prices have not skyrocketed again it might still be part of the process, and we need to wait and see 2020 later. I believe the breakthrough of ETH 2.0 is one important factor to be able to drive the price of ETH to the moon.
Even if the ETH 2.0 is released what is so special to think that the price will rise to the moon, i am not expecting any rapid changes in the ETH price nor i am not expecting it to moon ever again, it had is wonderful rallying times in the past and those who were able to make the money and got out then it is fun, if not the price of ETH determines on the price of bitcoin.
For 2.0 released I really though that there's a great changes will happen but turns out nothing but let's still not lose our hopes since there are more coming see it here

But I think you provably means the year 2017 and I think the price drive for ETH at that time is due to the bitcoin halving and it is only drag the same with the other alts.
