Hey guys, I was wondering about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptos in general and their relation to the games industry

We all know, people at my age (31 years) growed up playing games, surfing the internet and they are  very close to technology in general

Games always have put new technologies to evolving the market, like: Internet to play multiplayer games, virtual reality and 3d to have a deeper experience, photorealism, payment inside app/game and etc

But until now, games industry didn't use any new technology related to cryptos

Do you think they will use?
And if yes, how they can use BTC, blockchain and cryptos in general?

The only and most obvious for me is use cryptos to pay games, in steam, psn, xbox live and etc, but I'd like to see your ideas guys
Yeah it is hard to spot a game service company or literally a game that accept any form of cryptocurrencies. However, I have read an online article that there's a game service company which is Steam have once used to accept Bitcoin but due to high fees and volatility of crypto they terminate this kind of method. According to Steam they might still reconsider of bringing back this payment method if Bitcoin becomes more stable.

Yawn, old news. Everyone knows what steam is you don't have to post about it like you made this amazing discovery. Btw you still can buy steam games with crypto and steam brining back crypto payment is sueless since all you need to do is buy a steam gift card from just about anywhere with crypto.

Thankfully I can buy my Steam Credits easily. If you reside in the Philippines, there's an app called Coins.ph and you can buy Steam Credits in 1:1 rate. It isn't direct as what you had said that buying games through cryptos but it pretty much ends up at the same thing.
I would love for Steam to allow cryptos to buy their games again, but I hope the rates is still the same because in any case I would stay in the method I am using to buy Steam Credits.

Om what is wrong with you peopke. ANYONE in ANY country can buy steam gift cards with crypto. You do not need steam to accept crypto. If you buy in bulk you can even get a small discount on steam cards which steam would never get you. It might only be 1-2% but it is something you otherwise wouldn't get.
