Yup that's true, the price of bitcoin can increase at anytime. And if you don't have much you will always be missing out from it. But the truth is, it's not everyone that has that kind of money to buy up to one BTC, especially those that are living in developing countries, the average person there will find it difficult to buy up to one BTC. Where I live, the current price of BTC converted the country's currency is a lot of money and an average person here is afraid of putting that kind of amount of money in anything that they are not sure about or something with a high risk. For an average person living in the US, buying one BTC will be easy, but it's not so for people in other places.
Well, Bitcoin can never finish, people buy and sell Bitcoin every day, so no matter when you join, there will always be one for you to buy.
