Stop overreacting. You can pay to enable images right now, or you can contribute to the forum, wait some time and get this benefit yourself for free (like I and most users did). The reason you can't do that immediately with a Newbie account is that there were too many spammers posting NSFW and troll pictures, so a restriction was required. That's not hard to understand.
