I don't think Exscudo is a failed project, they just haven't thought about the community,
does here have a link to Github Exscudo? if they are active on Github I think it is appropriate to have EON
But have they successed their goal? For example they promised to provide crypto ATM and crypto cards... so after few years of "development" where are they?

i'm not surprised, doesn't meant those feature are bad. but for me, good project's proved to reach goal stage to stage, and make those holders tokens get devinded, benefit, and profit.
