Regarding 1), what do you kind of things were you looking for in the homepage? We would definitely love to add more information to it. Let us know!
Hum, I think it would be interesting for example, to propose at the beginning of the page a video of simple explanation on the operation of the site, and more generally polls paid ( Always good for someone who discovers the field ).
Then, perhaps put more values in your statistics ( Overall the site does not properly showcase the project I think ).
The design is too dark, it lacks color I think ( I say that, but I do not have the ability to offer better
