hi,
how is ETH performance of this miner compared to claymore and pheonix ?
thanks
For Polaris cards, the competition is tough, but we most often come out on top. We've already established that Phoenix adds +3% and Claymore ~1.5% in their displayed hashrates though (although to be fair I haven't published the tests made by 3rd parties yet) so it's also a factor what hashrates you choose to believe in for the comparisons. As I say to everyone, don't take my word for it, run our published testing tool to verify our claims instead. The issue is that you will be mining air when running the tests. When I have the time I'll rebuild our tester tool into a low-diff sampling proxy instead so people still can be mining just like usual but also get a MUCH better measure of the true poolside miner hashrate and the claims above it should be evident for everyone.
For Vegas, and especially V56 Hynix and VIIs, I believe it's not really a close call and we outperform the other miners in a more distinct way.
All this said, unless you take the time to tune for TRM, you won't be realizing the full potential. We usually can take a lower voltage while remaining stable, and many times we need a little bit more core clk to reach max speed. It varies though, there's no trivial optimal formula that works for all rigs unfortunately. Feel free to come join our discord where there are many more users to ask and also published tuning examples.
Cheers, K
