after that experience, i started using bitrefill for amazon.com gift cards. they are unfortunately the most expensive option by far. they charge an extra 2% on everything. they do have the added bonus of processing with zero confirmations (make sure not to use RBF though!) if you pay with 6+ sat/byte fee rate, so i always use them when i'm in a hurry. however, i'm getting sick of being overcharged every time so i might go back to the bitpay wallet.

I've noticed this too after using them. As far as I know they are the one and only gift card provider that sticks a premium on top though I guess almost all others use Bitpay's exchange rate. It kind of negates the point. If you have a decent exchange you may as well use that as it'll almost certainly be cheaper than 2%.

For another 0.5% I can use a Coinbase debit card which leaves me with money to spend elsewhere should I wish it. I'd choose that instead.

There are different strategies, we decided to compete based on service and global availability. However, we are constantly trying to get new sources and setting the lowest prices posible.

People that do not care to leak personal data, shopping with a debit card or buying Gift Cards from poor track record companies, are not our typical users.
