Hello guys, has it ever happened that some pool had exceeded 51% of Bitcoin hash-rate? I tried to find some information on the Internet, but there are many articles which are not in the contrast so I am not able to find out which of them are correct and which are just hoaxes. Thank you
https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-mining-detente-ghash-io-51-issue[GHash] got brazen at 55% from 2014-06-12 11:53:05 until 2014-06-13 09:45:24 GMT, for almost 24 hours.
And prior to that, it seems to have tested the waters over a period of 10 days or so, perhaps gauging the publics reaction.
Ghash held 55% for almost a day.
Miners have gotten smarter and to avoid bad PR, keep the top pool under 30%,
however the top 4 pools have had over 51% for years.
Whether or not , one entity is controlling multiple mining pools is hidden from the public.

Odds are Bitmain is secretly controlling over 51% thru multiple pools, but that information will never be made public.

Even thru the 51% safety margin has been exceeded, so far no one has carried out a 51% attack.
