Hello, Bitcointalk!  Grin
BPIP is back in action, but not fully operational yet!

Likely known to most, multiple HP drive firmware failures caused BPIP servers to suffer total unexpected data loss, which took the site offline until backups could be recovered and restored.

And, potentially unknown to most, suchmoon joined BPIP's development efforts several months ago, and has been a huge asset and resource. Smiley

Ultimately, it made more sense to move towards a new internal structure within BPIP, which has resulted in suchmoon and I taking over the development & ownership of BPIP, as equal partners.

suchmoon has been generous enough to take over hosting and cover expenses necessary to get the site back online. We both believe BPIP is a project worth developing and keeping alive.. but it does require a large amount of effort & resources to maintain, all which come with a cost.

With the new servers & hosting in place, instead of trying to resurrect the old site, we've decided to release the new design & parser which had been under development prior to the drives crashing.

Further improvements are still being worked on and additional features which are not quite ready to be released are coming very soon. So, while it is back in action, the site should not be considered live yet, and it could take days-weeks to get things caught up and running efficiently.

So, without further ado.. Grin
Some notable design changes.
-New header which helps mobile views and reduces the vertical footprint.
-5 New theme options, including a new dark silk theme and the bitcointalk throwback theme. Wink
-Customizable theme options, including the capability to hide/show the background to help slow/remote connections.
-Front-end layout has had an overhaul to correct some glitches, and has moved more into bootstrap world.
-Back-end improvements have helped performance overall, and many tweaks & bug fixes have been corrected.
-Character encoding should be corrected. Searches and post titles should now support special characters & spaces more consistently (as parsing catches up..)
-Avatars are now showing on profile pages, along with DT/banned/inactivity status.
-Profile page also supports ID's now (satoshi == https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=3)

And, I always like to include a few full size unblurred backgrounds. Smiley
