My dog along with many others went missing on independence day in April last year, went to all the restaurants, never saw him again.

Still love the freedom this country affords expats although some things are seriously disturbing seen through a westerners lens.
Not sure if true, but I've heard of a story of a family going to a restaurant somewhere in Asia. They had their dog with them, and asked the waiter to keep an eye on him while they were there. After they finished eating and were ready to leave, they asked for their dog back, only to realise that they had actually just eaten it! The waiter thought they brought the dog for them to cook!
In the western world, humans tend to avoid eating carnivore animals. I can't think of a carnivore animal in any western cuisine. Pigs are omnivores, but are fed corn and soybean meals. Cats and dogs are carnivores, so they're out. I don't know if there is a scientific basis for this.
