There's a story that my mom told me, it's about my uncle who once became a gambling addict that there comes a time where he sold most of their things in their house just to find money to gamble. The worst thing that my uncle did is to pledge their house just to satisfy his gambling pleasures.
I know it's not easy to overcome this situation especially when you're already in your point that you want to get back everything that you have lost. You keep on gambling thinking you can earn everything back. Actually, we're already lucky enough if we continuously win the game but even our luck has its own limitations. Without noticing it, our wins are slowly turning into losses.
I also know that some of us here will just put their attention on different things to avoid too much gambling. But in reality, it's just easy to say but harder to do. There's no easy way if you really got attached to gambling. But in your opinion or personal experiences, how do you overcome your addiction to gambling?
When you come to those levels of addiction the only way to overcome the addiction is to get professional help, an addicted person by its own will find impossible to solve his issues and while his family will be needed in the process to get his life back in track again they do not have the necessary skills to help a person that has reached rock bottom, also it is important to talk to people that have gone through the same and that have overcame their addiction problem that way you can show the addicted that it is possible to recover.
