Mass adoption? Stable coins made by some famous companies and even countries? Tokenisation and STOs rise? Something like that I think, but it's always hard to predict.
Agree. It's hard to predict what the next big thing in crypto will be right now. I'd bet that stablecoins and STOs will become the hottest trend in the crypto industry by 2020, as governments have started researching possibilities of launching digital currencies of their own. Not to mention, they're starting to devise a proper regulatory framework for stablecoins within the mainstream world. The announcement of Facebook's Libra cryptocurrency has gathered the attention of worldwide governments and central banks as we know them. As a result, regulations and mainstream adoption will increase leading serious investors (institutional investors) into the crypto industry. New technologies and features are being thoroughly tested in order to make the Blockchain/crypto industry a better place.
While stablecoins and STOs might be the next big thing for crypto right now, we cannot deny that Bitcoin's block halving could contribute towards greater demand of crypto assets across the market. After all, Bitcoin's rise is beneficial for other cryptocurrencies valuation within the mainstream world. This will be the next big thing for crypto yet, as crypto's market capitalization rises towards $1 Trillion USD. Still though, mass adoption is key for new and exciting things to happen in crypto land. Without it, all efforts will be in vain.
Nonetheless, I hope that crypto would soar in both mainstream adoption and price. As long as we "hodl" onto our crypto, we'll be able to sell at higher prices once the hype starts all over again. It's a repetitive cycle where people go towards the next big thing in crypto, resulting in astronomical levels in price within the short term. Just my opinion
