There's a story that my mom told me, it's about my uncle who once became a gambling addict that there comes a time where he sold most of their things in their house just to find money to gamble. The worst thing that my uncle did is to pledge their house just to satisfy his gambling pleasures.

I know it's not easy to overcome this situation especially when you're already in your point that you want to get back everything that you have lost. You keep on gambling thinking you can earn everything back. Actually, we're already lucky enough if we continuously win the game but even our luck has its own limitations. Without noticing it, our wins are slowly turning into losses.

I also know that some of us here will just put their attention on different things to avoid too much gambling. But in reality, it's just easy to say but harder to do. There's no easy way if you really got attached to gambling. But in your opinion or personal experiences, how do you overcome your addiction to gambling?

I'm sorry for your uncle. I'm a bit curious how he or his addiction ended up. How is he now? Does he have a family? The worst effect is definitely not only affecting the gambler himself but also his immediate family. For sure, an addiction reaching a stage like that is damaging to everyone around him.

That is true that it is easier said than done. But you really need to look for that thing that totally distracts you from gambling. With the help of your family and friends, I guess that can be addressed for as long as it is not yet at a worst stage.
