In Q1 alone of 2019 there was $356m in theft of digital currencies from exchanges and scams while losses from fraud hit 851m. This number includes the QuadrigaX scam which accounts to about $134m in total losses.

What can we do to help stop these from happening and getting worse?

Its serious problem in cryptworld and this is reason people think before to get in the crypto,While crypto is getting popular another side hackers are more active,Developers need more home work to secure the funds of users not fr a limited time but forever.
Most of victims for scams are new comers so creating awareness about crypto and how to invest in it is needed.
