Utilizing cryptocurrency technologies, each station would be a stand alone transaction centre able to negotiate, purchase and sell data with any other station or client.  As the weather/hydrological/geological dataset collected by each station grows, so does its value and thus potential profits. An immediate commercial use that would consume this data is the Agricultural Insurance industry which often claims inability to insure crops due to insufficient weather data.
