Winning prizes is the motivation why you play. Basically its making more money by betting the right choice.
Indeed. It is no doubt that people who come to gambling are for making money or win the game. They must be interested to come because of the possible amount of money can be obtained. So, it is rather no sense if they come with the main purpose of having fun. 
Some do it for entertainment, I wouldn't recommend gambling for entertainment really. Its best to just watch TV if you just want to be entertained.
Yes. If someone really wants to have fun, taking a vacation or gathering with friends is a better choice than gambling. Or just watching TV as you stated above.
