Awesome Miner has a log file on disk and write information to it quite often. Is this the harddisk activity you are looking for? You can disable the log file in the Options dialog, Advanced section.

I think. Its the system information in Awesome Miner check size all my extra hard disks.

The system monitoring feature (what you see on the System tab for a selected miner) do show memory usage and disk space. This will query your disk for the amount of free space - but it will not really read or write anything. The purpose of the feature is to let you see the amount of free disk space without having to login to each computer.
