I understand the name and ticker change but I'm concerned about the recognition of this coin's past. Once the name is changed I believe all the past efforts will be erased in the eyes of most newcomers. I hope the name change can bring more attention to the coin but I'm afraid people will see it just as a new "sh*tcoin"

I understand your concerns, however it's only a cosmetic change, nothing else changes and the over 4 year long history will still be there and will be communicated as before.
Unfortunately the Radium name has some negative connotations to it which doesn't represent the technology at all and it isn't all that popular it seems. So we had the choice to not change it or change it before we get bigger and before we have youtube influencers make review vids etc. to attract newcomers.  We will keep our bitcointalk thread, our twitter page, discord, Telegram etc. we just change the name and we'll add a reference like eg 'formerly known as Radium'.

Our history is indeed something we're proud off and we're certainly not gonna throw that away.  There was a name change before, from Radon to Radium.  We think we now have a window to make a final transformation to a much stronger brand (away from the nuclear connection) as the crypto winter isn't over yet and so there's isn't much new money/new people coming in the space yet and interest is still low.  I would certainly agree to avoid a name change right in the middle of a bull run or when we're listed on plenty more exchanges and have a bigger community.  So it's pretty much now or never.
