You can contribute to the development agriculture in more than one way. You can either create a decentralized market for farmers to sell their produce and receive payments in cryptocurrencies or you can develop some new techniques for increasing agriculture efficiency and distribute that to farmers via blockchain technology or you can create a platform where farmers can raise loans or contribute funds as cooperative which will increase the joint-efficiency.
