Uhh, no it didn't. The reddit post linked in the article barely has any comments and upvotes so, the author is lying.

This guy gets it. This mod sounds like nothing more than a poor man's 'Pay-to-win' battle royale.  

And like this user also said, from a gameplay point of view, the game has a major flaw because, unlike one of the biggest battle royales in the industry like PUBG where you at least need to keep moving all the time, in this "Treasure Hunt" mod you can just stay still until you know who's got the loot and then try to get it for yourself so, the game doesn't really encourage you to do something right from the get go.
