I think a little heard of good choice for 3rd world countries is to petition for annexation or to becoming a protectorate of America or something like that, and allow yourselves to be governed by our systems..

I can tell you this would be an extremely unpopular idea here. It was only relatively recently that America moved their military out and handed the bases over to Filipino forces, at the request of the Philippines. And with the U.S. no longer issuing work visas to Filipinos and recently denying visas to government officials they say are complicit in crimes against humanity, the U.S. isn't exactly very popular here right now.
