For me the best technique to build better habits is the habit packing, you just pile the reward of one habit as the cue for another ex:
I Always drink a extra cup of coffee in the morning after my breakfast so I started to write in my journal immediately after picking the coffe and after I finished my journal and drank my coffe I start to medidate for a short time(Started with 2 mins of mindfulness)
This worked extremely well for me because I struggled to implement these habits for months with no results but when I started this routine it was extremely easy to do it and now it is already automatic
