IMO, that's not guaranteed, what if ETH 2.0 was launch last year and we know that bitcoin is not that bullish as we are expecting, I think that update would still not gonna push for ETH to rise that high. You are talking of the new ATH, the last time it reached its ATH was when Bitcoin went to $20,000, so I think we need the similar situation.

I think ETH is not that tied to BTC growth anymore. BTC is falling now but ETH remains bullish.

It's still, once btc rally fall so hard most if not all the alts will be dumped as well. Most of the time fear in minds of each investors are usually affected
when bitcoin start to dumped down. Even there's a different market and offers ETH will only reached a new high when bitcoin achieved another strong
bull run.

Mentally ETH is tied to BTC but technically it's not. The falls is cause by fear by individuals. ETH has the potential as a stand alone Crypto asset but BITCOIN has eating up the mind of Crypto communities. Let's hope this change someday.
