Roadmap of a project is vital enough in my opinion so that if a project does not run their project in a roadmap of course it will be a big question for investors later, because before making an investment, of course investors will first find out where the direction of the project will run and it will be obtained through the roadmap given by the team to the public but if this romad project deviates from the project romad it will certainly be difficult for the team to develop this project in accordance with the initial plan of the project.

Accomplishments of the items from the roadmap may be delayed, but the team should give updates on what's going on. Because without any news, people will wonder if they are still working behind the curtain or not? There will be negative speculations and all so I think, if you hold ICO and collect some funds from the investors, you have the responsibility to at least give them brief updates if you are still alive or not.

Anyway, the investors should do their own inquiry also because it is their money that supposedly has been used to deliver the objectives of the project.
