The constant reboots are there deliberately. Without hard resets the devices will stop hashing. Getting rid of needing them is not trivial.

Edit: Posts below suggest they're not needed? Turning the hard resets off seems like a big step forward if they've fixed the original stability issues that meant they were required in the first place.
