It seems that your analysis is inaccurate, you've not been able to prove it here, on the Meta board.
C'mon, the potential for merit doesn't depend on where you make the post, but on quality of the poster itself. I've seen many merit source applications that collect merit-worthy posts on various boards. I'm sure that the sources of merit want merit to be spread evenly throughout the forum.
